Potent Engine Options
The Silverado 2500 has two engine options for customers to choose from, both of which deliver plenty of power. The standard 6.6-liter V8 gas engine produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. An available 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel V8 engine produces 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard with both trims. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while four-wheel drive is available.
When properly equipped with a gooseneck or fifth-wheel hitch, the Silverado 2500 can tow up to 22,500 pounds with a diesel engine or 20,000 pounds with a gas engine. You can also fit up to 3,850 pounds of payload into the truck bed.
Versatile, Rugged Design
The Silverado 2500 has three cab design options: regular cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab. Regular cab models have two doors and three seats. Both Double Cab and Crew Cab models have four doors and six seats, but the Crew Cab offers more interior space.
Standard interior features for the Silverado 2500 are fairly basic, and include manual air conditioning, vinyl upholstery and floor carpeting, and power windows and door locks. The second-tier Custom trim adds cloth upholstery and carpeted floors. Higher trims add more luxurious available features, including dual-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats, heated rear outboard seats, and leather upholstery.

The Silverado 1500 has plenty of features to please tech-minded drivers. Even the base WT trim includes a seven-inch infotainment touchscreen and wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®. Starting with the third-tier LT trim and up, the Silverado 2500 gets a 13.4-inch touchscreen display, which is paired with a digital gauge cluster, Google built-in, and an integrated navigation system. An available seven-speaker Bose® premium audio system provides outstanding sound quality.

- LT: Upgrades the tech features considerably, with a 13.4-inch touchscreen, Google built-in, and integrated navigation.
- LTZ: An upscale model that builds off the LT with dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and heated and power-adjustable front seats.
- ZR2: This off-roading trim adds mud-terrain tires, standard four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case, aluminum skid plates, a 1.5-inch suspension lift, and many more features for optimal adventuring.
